News Room 6 hours ago 0 9

The city of Jos will welcome developers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and technology enthusiasts on Sept. 20 as the annual Google Developers Festival (DevFest) returns to the Plateau State capital.

Organised by the Google Developer Groups (GDG) Jos chapter, the one-day gathering will take place at the Sarau Event Centre, behind NTA Jos. The programme will feature a mix of technical workshops, live demonstrations, keynote addresses, and networking sessions, all aimed at strengthening the local technology ecosystem and connecting it to global opportunities.

DevFest is one of the largest community-led tech events in the world, providing a platform for developers, designers, and startup founders to learn, collaborate, and showcase innovations built with Google technologies. The Jos edition, organisers say, is designed to create opportunities for both beginners and experienced professionals.

This year’s theme, “Building Plateau’s Tourism, Technology & Talent to Scale Globally,” will guide conversations across keynotes, panel sessions, and workshops. Featured speakers include Daser David, President of the Digital Bridge Institute; Dickson Nsofor, CEO of Kora; Samuel Jok Gwott, Director-General of Plateau Express Services Group; Longji Theodore, CEO of nHub; Datong Gwaman, Director-General of the Plateau State ICT Development Agency; Tabitha Hris of Hris International; and Sodiq Akinjobi, Community Manager of the Google Developer Ecosystem, among others.

The event will run from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is open to the public, though registration is required.
