Why NTA Jos Park Operations Relocated to Ngo Talatu Jang Motor Park in Bukuru

News Room 8 months ago 0 1.2 K

The News: The Plateau State Government has relocated operations at the popular NTA motor park in Jos to the recently opened Ngo Talatu Jang shopping complex and motor park along the Jos-Bukuru expressway.

The motor park was initiated in 2014 by the Jos South Local Government Commission but wasn’t completed until March 2024.

Know more:

  • Reason for Relocation: Increased population, urbanisation, and traffic congestion had saturated the NTA park. Some drivers even parked on the adjacent Hwolshe Road, causing further issues.
  • Benefits of New Location: Ngo Talatu Jang offers a “more modern and spacious environment,” according to Samuel Mofat, the state’s transport director. This is expected to improve the efficiency of transport services.
  • Transition Efforts: Local reports indicate efforts to inform the public and assist operators in moving to the new location.

Mixed Reactions: Some residents have appreciated the move, especially because of the improved facilities and potential for reduced congestion. However, others are concerned about the inconvenience and adjustment period associated with the relocation.
Zoom out: Since his inauguration, Governor Mutfwang’s administration has been revamping transportation in the state. He has commissioned 15 metro buses for intra-city travel in the Jos-Bukuru metropolis, and the Jos Main Market-Bukuru train route is back in operation after rail upgrades began late last year.
