The News: Following the resignation of Olu Akanmu as the co-CEO and President of Opay Nigeria, the fintech’s management has appointed Daudu Gotring to replace Akanmu in a new role as Managing Director.
According to Opay, Gotring appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
“Mr Gotring, a veteran in the financial services industry, will continue to steer the Opay ship in the direction of even greater strides,” the company said.
What we know: Prior to his appointment, Gotring was a former director of trade and exchange at the Central Bank of Nigeria. He also contested for the Plateau state governorship seat in the last election.
