Ponfa Miri Foundation Set To Hold SDGs Festival in Plateau State

The Story: Ponfa Miri Foundation, in line with the United Nations’ sustainable development goals (SDGs), is organising an SDGs festival in Plateau state with the theme; “restoring peace and development”. 

The event is proposed to take place in October 2023.

Why it matters: According to Ponfa Miri, founder of the Ponfa Miri Foundation and Chief Convener of the event, the festival aims to promote the sustainable development goals in Nigeria, create a platform for raising awareness about the importance of SDGs and bring about stakeholders from different sectors to discuss ways to achieve this goal, through SDG exhibitions, symposiums, and walks

“The SDGs festival is important to Plateau State, because it provides a comprehensive framework for addressing various social, economic, and environmental issues in the state such as poverty, facilitating quality education and good healthcare,” Mr Miri added. 

By embracing the SDGs, Plateau State can work towards a more prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable future for its citizens.

Know more: The event will encourage collaboration and partnership among stakeholders for achieving SDGs and also increase the visibility of projects and initiatives that will contribute to the achievement of SDGs in Plateau State and Nigeria at large.
