Exclusive: Startup Grind Appoints Yusuf Ahmed as New Jos Director

Yusuf Ahmed has been appointed as the new director of Startup Grind’s Jos chapter. The Google-backed initiative is arguably the world’s largest community of startups, founders, innovators, and creators. 

Mr Ahmed who has been acting in the capacity for over a year since the departure of Mayorkun Adeoti, the former Jos chapter director, was confirmed as the director earlier this month. “I’m excited to connect our local community with the resources and opportunities they need to build, grow, and scale their businesses,” Ahmed said. “My vision is to further engage our existing community by attracting strategic partners and sponsors and fostering deeper connections.

Leading the Startup Grind Jos chapter, the founder of Thrive Media Africa and renowned digital marketer/tech skills trainer, Yusuf Ahmed, plans to collaborate with key stakeholders across Plateau State to empower entrepreneurs with the resources and connections needed to flourish. 

Since stepping in as acting lead of the Jos community in October 2022, Ahmed has hosted or co-hosted a total of 23 events. “As Chapter Director, I aim to continue this tradition by hosting impactful and value-packed events that empower entrepreneurs and startup founders in Jos,” he added. 

Beyond his leadership at Startup Grind, Mr. Ahmed actively contributes to the growth conversation in the Northern Nigerian tech ecosystem. This includes initiatives like the Thrive Media Business Breakfast and his involvement with the Network of Northern Incubators and Accelerators.
